2205 vs 2507

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 2205 AND 2507 STAINLESS STEEL STRIP?

Standard number: ASTM A240/A240M--01 Duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy is a composite stainless steel composed of 21% aluminum, 2.5% aluminum and 4.5% nickel-ammonia alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local stress corrosion resistance. The yield strength of 2205 duplex stainless steel is twice that of austenitic stainless steel. This feature allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more cost-effective than 316, 317L. This alloy is especially useful in the -50°F/+600°F temperature range. Applications outside this temperature range, the alloy can also be considered, but there are some restrictions, especially when used in welded structures.

2507 stainless steel is called 00Cr25Ni7Mo4N in China. This steel is a relatively well-known super duplex stainless steel. The amount of chromium, aluminum and ammonia in the steel is higher than that of the second-generation duplex stainless steel. Its PRE value can reach 42, so it has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion. This steel was first developed by the Swedish SANDVIK company and came out in 1993.

Luoyang Huaci Metal Product Co.,Ltd. was established in 1999, located in Henan province a manufacturer and wholesaler of independent import and export rights.
