201 Stainless Steel Sheet is the new industry standard for stainless steel sheet. This particular grade is a chromium-nickel-manganese alloy that has been stabilized with an addition of nitrogen. It is non-magnetic in both the annealed and tempered conditions and offers good corrosion resistance. In order to be considered 201 stainless steel, the chemistry must meet certain criteria. Carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, nickel and molybdenum percentages must all fall within the ranges specified in order to qualify as this particular type of austenitic stainless steel.
